Tis' the season...
For time spent over coffee and White Chocolate Bread Pudding with wonderful friends...
...for perusing Antique Stores with my husband and finding the niftiest retro canister set of 4 for $10...this was especially sweet since I was so jealous of Edie's...ok, I still am slightly..hers has turquoise...and I brake for turquoise. And I also fell in love with this adorable blueish-green bird...it reminded me of winter...probably cause it's a puffed up bird...maybe that's what I am...puffed up for winter...yes...that's what I'll tell myself...where was I?....oh yeah... I'm not quite convinced that it's Antique...sure looks like I'd spot it at Target on a shelf...but it does weigh about 8 pounds no joke..the tag said it was a door stop...so who knows. It's now perched in my kitchen window.

...for watching Christmas movies as a family...for reading scripture about the coming of the Messiah...and remembering the real Reason for the Season...for preparing for The Nester's Christmas Tour of Homes...for reciting our favorite scenes from "Elf"...for taking the annual Christmas photo of my children...and reflecting on how much they have changed in just a year...for driving to see the lights on 109 for the hundredth time as a family because the kids ask to...for baking in the kitchen with my kids and my husband...for gaining 10 pounds...for making my 100 year old recipe of Wassail...for crying while watching "Merry Christmas Charlie Brown"...for sipping German Chocolate Cake coffee on cold mornings...for reading "The Crippled Lamb"...and the Christmas story from the Bible...for the smell of Christmas...for Christmas music EVERYWHERE you go...for folks being just a bit kinder...and hearts that are just a bit fuller.
Tis' the Season!
"And whatever I do, may it always bring glory to you"
Amen honey!! Santa will do his thing and go on his way...everyone is throwing away those Christmas cards (they really are so face it), and really on December 26th we will all wake up and wonder what happened to the Christmas joy. Keep it up girl and enjoy this wonderful season of celebration.
ReplyDeleteOh and if it makes you feel any better, we just caught up tonight from Sunday on our Jesse tree. BRUTAL!!
That would be last Sunday...just to clarify :)
ReplyDeleteI love that! Especially the part about running your car into a tree from hearing Christmas Shoes. Strangely this year, I didn't hear it even once!
